Gold
Following an adult severe Traumatic Brain Injury, I lost everything I owned and things I had known and even what I couldn’t recall. I learned to use Art as a form of healing without knowing it. I began creating art early morning until night at a local downtown cafe. The golden backpack I carried would become a source of comfort as it held my pencils, charcoal, erasers and paper. It also became a headrest for afternoon naps under a large maple tree in City Park near the cafe. If only the backpack could speak to the world, it would tell the long story of an evolving artist as he began to craft his limited artistic abilities following the injury.
